Impressive ceilings and partitioning systems from Parker Ceilings enable 500 Brighton and Hove City Council staff to access flexible ways of working across three floors of refurbished Bartholomew House
The Bartholomew House customer service centre provides modern facilities for customers to access services such as council tax enquiries, applications for housing and council tax benefits, concessionary travel, housing options etc, all in one location. The Council’s intention was to save money by bringing together services which were provided at the reception areas of Bartholomew House and Priory House, located nearby, but they were keen to create an environment that looked inviting, using modern design and colour ways.
The scheme consisted of the refurbishment of the existing first and fourth floors together with alterations to form the new customer services facilities. The works were carried out in various phases with the offices in occupation, with particular attention being paid to the maintenance of existing services, health and safety of the occupants and shared access and egress routes. It was also of paramount importance that the building was future-proofed so that staff had easy access to power, data and telecom cabling.
As is ever the case Parker Ceilings were able to accommodate these requirements and feedback from both our client contractor and the public using the facility has been extremely positive.
Thanks to all of you and your men for another great job on Level 5. The client is moving in this weekend and has accepted the completed floor today. The comments that have come back from the design team today was that we had raised the level of quality and finish, and this floor was ‘by far the best so far’ well done.
